Kensworth Parish Council Achieves General Power of Competence

Kensworth Parish Council meets the eligibility requirements for the General Power of Competence (GPC). This follows the Clerk successfully attaining the qualifications required, and the election of the required number of councillors.

The General Power of Competence, granted under the Localism Act 2011, gives eligible local councils greater flexibility to act in the interests of the community, enabling the Council to undertake a wider range of activities and services for the benefit of residents.

The Council formally adopted the General Power of Competence at its meeting on 14 May 2026.

Kensworth Parish Council meetings are held on the second Thursday of every month from 19:30 at Kensworth Village Hall, except August where there is no planned meeting.
