Help Celebrate part of Kensworth’s History
To celebrate and preserve an important part of the village’s history, Kensworth Parish Council has commissioned a Chairman’s Chain of Office, with a link recognising each of the local people who have served as Chairman since the Parish Council was formed in 1894. The project follows extensive local research to establish the history of the Council and those who have led it, including a visit to the Bedfordshire Archives. A commemorative board listing all Chairs will also be displayed in Kensworth Village Hall, creating a permanent record for the whole village. A Parish Council logo has been designed and will feature on both the Chain and the board.
The Chain of Office and Commemorative Board will cost around £6,000. Several local residents have already generously offered to contribute towards the project. Following this interest, the Parish Council would like to give other residents the opportunity to contribute and be part of this piece of Kensworth history.
Any amount not raised through donations will be met from Parish Council funds.
Donations of any amount are welcome and every contribution will help create a lasting record of more than 130 years of local service.
